And to you Chris.   I haven't been in the sewing room since before Thanksgiving.. minor health issues - but they interfered with having energy to do anything.  Really hope to get back in there this weekend!

My first sewing wish is to FIND my sewing room again......

I was in there the other day and saw the basket that the Halloween candy had been in, stashed in a corner on top of a box of ????  Who knows what.  That's how long ago I was in there.  We were heavily in the midst of pre-retirement hoopla at that point (then Thanksgiving, then Christmas...).  My sewing room once again became the dumping ground of whatever else I didn't have time to look at or deal with.

But retirement has been completed (yea!!) so my excuse has vanished and it's time to get in that room with the shovel.  Again.

Had to laff -- we went out to lunch right after the last retirement signature was signed and the last hand was shaken.  On a whim, DH checked his work e-mail to see if the account had been closed yet.  He found an urgent message from one of his dept. underlings concerning something that needed approval by the end of the day!    He had to call that person and explain for the last time that he was not the boss any more.  That person had been told the day was coming since about October?!  So even after he retired, DH was still taking care of business.....  They could not let him go without one last urgent problem for old times' sake!

Well, I finally have had some sewing room time.  Finished quilting a small baby panel; have one 38x38 pinned ready to quilt; one 40x48 pieces cut and marked; and found material from stash -(but had to go buy a coordinating piece at the LQS -  aw)  to make a lap quilt for a friend that was just diagnosed with B-Cell lymphoma.  Feels so good to be getting something accomplished.  Today hopefully will be very productive on the lap quilt.

If I can ever find my camera I will take some pictures of my sewing rooms.  I have one room for my long arm and another room for all my other machines and cutting table and big ironing board plus all my fabric and I can even walk around in it. Plus I still have another room for more fabric? LOL

As Jan closes, I can honestly say it has been a productive month. I’m working on my 7th charity quilt. Worked a little on a 2nd Christmas Hexie quilt. And most importantly, started on a cross stitch stocking for our very first grandbaby! I have some baby flannel to start making blankies and burp cloths. A baby Hexie quilt top is finished, just needs quilting. Being required to stay home has so many advantages.

Chris, agree with you.
 .
Pat.. you've been busy.. hope to see pictures

MaryAnn...  would be fun to see the pictures of all your sewing areas.

Starry - hope you find your sewing room soon..

Well, I finished the lapquilt for my neighbor and dropped it off at the quilters a week ago.  Sure hope to get it this weekend as my friend has started her Chemo and I would like to get this quilt bound and delivered.

Have finished a kids sports quilt and a small lap quilt for a local breast cancer center.  Have another one cut and laid out for the cancer center and hope to work on that today and finish this weekend.  Our Caring Quilters meetings is next Tuesday... so hoping to have five finished quilts to turn in.  Pictures to come when they're all done.

Happy Sewing.
