Just realized that there isn't a December topic.

After Christmas cards, I hope to do some sewing...  Chris

Ah, going into the sewing cave sounds wonderful!  It just doesn't seem to happen.  Maybe tomorrow?
Hope everyone is healthy, busy and enjoying these early days of December.

Well, I was going to insert a picture of a quilt I finished yesterday but can't as yet figure out how to insert the pic.  Never had this problem before.  Anyway, it is a panel quilt with a bear in the center with other blocks top and bottom to complete it.

Boy Joanns must really be worried about getting stuck with stock.  Last week it was buy 1 Chrismas mug or towel and get 3 free.  Now it is three spools of thread and get 3 free.

Now that I am past buying things, they have these kinds of sales!!!!!!  Chris

Wow, today it is buy 1 roll of wrapping paper or ribbon and get 3 free.  Ditto notions.  Oh how I wish I needed any of that...  Chris

(edited wow - can't believe the missed keys when typing) Glad to see some posting, even if no quilts shown.  Been fighting a bug of some kind since before Thanksgiving  - worse afterwards..  so today (even though I didn't act on it) was the first day in over a month I actually thought about entering the room.  Hope everyone stays well.  Hope to post some accomplishments before month end.

Hope you are back to feeling well soon Elainetoo.

Got a pneumonia shot last week and managed to stay well.  When DH and a lot of people mentioned getting sick for a couple of weeks after, I put it off as long as I could but was instructed to get one this year.  Didn't do so good, a few weeks earlier when I got the flu shot.

I keep hoping I will get into the sewing room, but this week it was Christmas letters & cards.  Also extra items and magazines into a bag for the library book store.  Know it is late for donating the Christmas items, but now is when I am getting that stuff done...   Chris

I’m 5 months past my Bone Marrow transplant and doing great. But I have to stay away from people, out of the sun and very little housekeeping. So quilting it is: I finished the first 3 and now am on the 4th charity quilt top Being a part of the Hexie Swap I have thousands of Hexies. Hexie Quilts # 3, 4 and 5 are in various stages. The very first quilt is quilted but needs its binding. I used a pattern for that one but have been making my own patterns for these additional ones. (2 of them are Christmas quilts. Think 2019). I have decided to send my machine for cleaning in January. So it will be a good chance to do some cross stitch and cutting out of another quilt.

cskvett.. know what you mean about the shots.  The flu shot was a bad one this year for seniors..  I had a nasty reaction to that also.

PatV82 - that's wonderful you're doing so well.   does isolate you.. but oh so worth it.  Wow, you go on the sewing... I need to get busy along those lines!

Nothing to show yet, but I have 3 tops all sandwiched and pinned.  I'm doing my version of free motion quilting on them - eventually.  Nothing like trying to squeeze in a little sewing between cookie making.

Don't want to shock everyone, but I actually did some sewing!  Fixed the waistband on a pair of DH pajamas.  Naturally where the pocket was attached.  Also sewed the seam shut on the piece that seals the weight in the top of a thread catcher I have had for awhile.  Don't remember just where I got it but it needed the top part that sits on the counter stuffed.  Had some crushed walnut shells I think from bluesnail so used that.  Pinned together some blocks I had made so thhe next time I sit down I can actually sew again...  Chris

I actually did some sewing, too.  Like, 2 minutes of it.  I made a key fob wristlet thingy-do.  Took me longer to pick out the webbing and the ribbon to sew on it than to actually stitch.  Gifted it to our new neighbors, who left us their key so we could watch their cats over Christmas.  They had brought the key over "naked."  Can't have that!  (I'd lose it....)  I sewed paw print ribbon to webbing and put the key on the fob.  Now nobody will lose "the cat sitting key."  I hear I have another sitting gig coming up in about a month.......

I hadn't sewn in so long that I had to stop and think for a second about how to thread the machine!!!
